Adding and Dimenioning the Center of Gravity (COG) to the 2D Drawing

In an earlier post and video, I showed how you can place a sketch point on the Center of Gravity (COG) of a model.  I had some questions about how to include the COG in the model 2D drawing so I will cover that process in this article and video.  In the video, I review the process of placing a sketch point on the COG of the model then show you how to add it to your 2D drawing and dimension its location.  Also I show you two methods of labeling the COG.

Adding a Point to the Model Center of Gravity (COG)

Autodesk Fusion 360 has a wonderful feature that allows you to determine the center of gravity (COG) of a body.  Fusion 360 allows you to measure from the COG to other features of the model but that is all you can do.  In my video, I will show you how to add a sketch point, at the position of the model COG which then can be used for any number of modeling processes.

If your model changes in size or shape, you must go through the process again.  The point is not dynamically associated to the COG.
